  • Precinct caucuses will be held on February 27, 2024, one week before the Presidential Nomination Primary, at 7 pm.

You can find your up-to-date caucus location with the Caucus Finder.

Senate District 53A will have two caucus sites, depending on your precinct:

    Garlough Elementary 1740
Charlton St, West St. Paul 55118

    Simley High School
    2920 80th St, Inver Grove Heights 55076

  • The Minnesota Secretary of State Office website provides a great overview of the basics of precinct caucuses, which are the first in a series of meetings where parties may endorse candidates, select delegates, and set goals and values (called party platforms).

You can read more about the DFL party caucus and convention guidelines here.

  • Visit the DFL guide online for a helpful video and rough schedule of typical precinct caucus events.

  • You have the right to take time off work to be at a precinct caucus or political party convention (if you’re a delegate or alternate). You must give your employer ten days’ written notice.

There are also special restrictions on public meetings allowed to be held after 6 p.m. on caucus nights in Minnesota to ensure that caucusing is accessible for all.

If you want to participate but still cannot attend, you can complete a 2024 Non-Attendee Form.
